HOLLYWOOD CASINO HOTEL AT GREEKTOWN  |  DETROIT, MI

HVS Design and Nehmer provided Interior Design and Architecture services for the $30-million renovation of the Hollywood Casino Hotel in Detroit, Michigan.  Inspired by Detroit's history and the vibrant murals that line the city, the team reimagined the hotel's 400 guestrooms, suites, and public areas. Starting with the lobby, the front desk was relocated to make space for inviting seating areas, a hidden bar lies cleverly tucked into the design, and the three-story ceiling was brought down to a two-story ceiling to create more intimacy. Artwork takes center stage in the hotel with the neon-lit art behind the front desk, the video montage that plays on a custom screen, the prints that dance along the walls in a Mondrian fashion, and Instagram-inspired murals that frame the elevator lobbies. Guestrooms coupled to the design feature framed local art and inventive casegoods unique to the needs of the property. The suites are anticipated to be complete by the end of the year.
