HVS Design and Nehmer provided Branding, Interior Design, and Architecture services for the Porch Kitchen & Bar, located within the Marriott Louisville Downtown Hotel. The design for this casual dining restaurant is derived from the concept of taking recognizable elements of the past and reinventing them in a way that is fresh and new. The branding package included the design of the restaurant’s logo, color palette, typography, signage, and collateral. The name, Porch Kitchen & Bar, comes from the cultural significance that the iconic American porch holds – acting as the neighborhood’s living room, a place to pass the time, and a place that connects individuals to the community. Guiding ownership through the branding process, our team developed a brand essence that is classic with a refined Americana aesthetic, relating back to the comforts of true southern hospitality.
